  1. I did well for February! I feel much better about the outcome of the month now that I'm at the end -- didn't feel like this at all in the beginning (I swamped myself with two too many projects).

I'm lost as to how to find 1000 tweeps. Good luck with this!
OHH! You're entering the Desire for Harlequin, too?!?!

    1. Thanks for stopping by.
I hope to enter the Desire contest. The good thing about it is--it's just a proposal so if it doesn't sell, you haven't written a whole book!

  2. Great job for February!
Getting twitter followers is tough - I followed 10-50 new people a week and retweeted their tweets to get their attention. Then, if they didn't follow me back or didn't respond, I unfollowed them, which felt kind of bad. However, twitter doesn't allow us to follow a huge number of people without having a following of our own so we have to keep the numbers somewhere almost - at least for following, anyway. I searched twitter for similar writers or for people with similar interests. I also followed twitter users who followed other people I liked - I searched through follower lists, especially those who followed writers and then, I followed those people, hoping for a return follow. It took time, but I noticed with those methods that I gained about 100 followers a month.
Retweeting others really helps, and sometimes "new to me" followers show up because I retweeted someone they liked. If you take part in A to Z, sometimes taking part in the A to Z chats help, too. It's all very time-consuming, though . . .

Best wishes with all of your goals in March!!!

  4. My goal was to start writing every day, and I've been doing a lot better with that. Today I had to proofread an e-galley so I didn't get to draft, but proofing is still part of writing so I'm counting it. ;)

  5. Good luck with the mailing list. I'm working hard on building mine, and it is not easy. Still, it's all about keeping your eye on the long term goal.

  6. Keep up with the writing/subbing. Maybe you'll do better in March. That's a lot of goals for March!
Pleased to meet you. I've followed you and wonder why I haven't come across you before!

  9. I think the easiest way to hit 1k twitter followers is by following 2k people. (And unfollowing those who don't follow back because twitter has a follower limit of 2k follows that only lets you follow more people as you get more followers.)

  10. Sounds like a busy month ahead. Good luck with your goals and with those submissions. I have over 1,000 Twitter followers, but I'm not sure that helps with selling books (if that's your aim). I think Twitter is a great way of socialising, making contacts, and finding interesting leads. But I'm not convinced it's a great way to market books.

  12. Best of luck with your goal, Beth. You can do it. My goals weren't all met, because new things that needed to be done kept popping up. Hopefully March will be better.
