I saw something online that said the inciting incident of Twilight was the baseball game, but that doesn't seem right since it would mean there is 200 pages of backstory. Have you read Twilight? Is this how you break it down?
P.S. contest is still open until midnight March 31st.
I'm so bad at thinking analytically like this. I have only just started trying to break the books I read down like this. It is helpful though.
ReplyDeleteNew follower here. Nice to meet you!
And now, since I just finished reading Anna and the French Kiss, I'm off to find the post you mentioned above.
p.s. I love those little purple falling stars ;)
I agree with how you have it broken down.
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me! Like inluvwithwords, I'm not great at this kind of thinking, but you seem to have it down. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it when a plot is broken down like this! Sometimes I have such a hard time dissecting what point is what. I read Twilight, and now that you've broken it down this way, I totally agree. And by the way, I haven't read Anna either!
ReplyDeleteInteresting assessment of Twilight. I loved this book when I first read it. Hopefully Meyer will come up with a new series soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by,
Livin' Life Through Books
Thanks for this :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds right to me. It makes me wonder though. If the inciting event is meeting Edward, there's an awful lot of other stuff going on before this. I always thought this book started slow and now I know why. :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds about right, there's no way it can be the baseball game however as Sara said it I have always thought the book started slow. Of course, I prefer when books starts slower, I don't like to be thrust into action.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing me this, I'm definitely using it to help plot!
