Follow Friday

For all aspiring writers, I'm teaching a blurb writing class starting Monday. It will also be a crash course in plot, and it's the method that got me a 50% full request rate.

Follow Friday is hosted by Alison and Parajunkee.

Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?

This is a hard one. I think I prefer pretty hardbacks, but ebooks are easier to read. I can hold the kindle w/ one hand while chasing ELF with the other, and I can make the font larger if I need to.

  1. eReaders are definitely more convenient. I like physical books better myself.

  2. I've never read on an e-reader, but I get why they're so popular- it's easy and accessible and all :) But I think nothing beats physical books! New follower :)

  3. Same here. Paper books are wonderful, but ebooks are a lot more convenient. :-)

    Your course sounds awesome.

  4. I agree. I just love a hardcover or paperback, but the Kindle is just so convenient! New GFC follower.

  6. I do like being about to change the font size, especially when my eyes are tired.

  7. It depends. If I'm sitting and reading, I like a hardcover. If I'm on the go, I want a paperback. And if I'm cooking or busy doing a ton of things I want my Kindle so it can read to me. So I need all three. :)

  8. I was against ebooks for the longest time. There's just something to be said about holding a hardcover book in your hand and feeling the pages as you turn them. But after Husband's continuous teasing that I would soon need one whole room for books alone, I decided to give the Kindle a chance. To my surprise, I like it. I agree with the lot of you that ebooks are more convenient, and easier to read when you are eating a messy sandwich that requires two hands. Also when I'm on vacation next week, I will be able to fit more clothes in my suitcase since it won't be loaded down with books. Although, I don't think I will ever stop buying books, especially for my favorite series, but I fear I will soon need multiple book shelves for my ebook cloud. -RB Austin
