Contest Reminder/Follow Friday

Just a reminder my contest is open till March 1st. The contest is open internationally. A $25 visa gift card and a book will be given away. I've decided to sweeten the deal by giving away a second book if I reach 100 followers by March 1st. You can find full details here.

Follow Friday

If you are a fan of Science Fiction what is your favorite book? If you haven't read Science Fiction before...any inkling to? Anything catch your eye?

I'm not really a sci-fan, but I've read Crashed (a YA distopian sci-fi) and The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Out of the two I preferred the host, but seriously it was no twilight and I feed off angsty love gone awry.

  1. Hi. In January, I read Beth Revis's Across the Universe. It was really, really good. It was a mix of sci fi, dystopian, and romance. It's YA.

Honestly, I like my sci fi in short burst, meaning short stories. :)

  9. People keep talking about The Host, so that's my cue to put it on my TBR list. I'll look up Crashed, too, and read that. I love dystopian books, so I'm sure I'll like that.

I'll also try the Hunger Games, like you said. I read a little bit of the first, but totally forgot about it :P
    Following you back :)

  18. Hey Beth. Good luck getting to 100, you'll do it!

I love sci fi, but I'm discovering I read all the old guys and need to find some contemporary authors. I love Orson Scott Card (try Enchantment, it's more fantasy in a modern world setting), Assimov, Bova, etc. The Host is my favorite by Meyer. Um, Across the Universe was excellent, and Scott Westerfeld's Uglies series.

YA sci fi is wonderful these days. It's light, but still has all the problem solving I like in sci fi.
